Overview
The construction of the Calabar-Akwa Ibom section of the Lagos-Calabar road is set to commence as the Federal Executive Council, yesterday, approved a sum of N1.334 trillion for the second phase of the project.
This will cover a 65km stretch starting from Calabar through Akwa Ibom and another 65km between Lagos and Ogun State.
Other road project contracts approved for the Federal Ministry of works includes
- Access Road to Delta State, and the Second Niger Bridge in Anambra State.
- The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (Phase 2, Section 1).
- The reconstruction of Lokoja-Benin Road.
- Ado-Ekiti–Igede Road Project.
- The Onitsha-Owerri expressway.
- The Wusasa-Jos route in Kaduna State.
- Abuja-Kano Highway which has now been divided into two sections and to be fully constructed of concrete technology.
