Overview

Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State over the weekend described Gurrara Waterfalls in Gurrara Local Government Area (LGA) as one of the blessings from God to the state that he intends to generating more electricity from to boost the state’s power supply.

Niger state currently plays host to Nigeria’s three main electricity generating dams; Jebba, Kainji and Shiroro.

The fourth dam is in Zungeru, Wushishi Local Government Area, while Governor Bago is nursing the idea of establishing the fifth one in Gurrara.
