Port Harcourt-Owerri Road Gets Attention Of NDDC As Tinubu Gives The Nod

The much-neglected Port Harcourt -Owerri Road that links the south-south to the eastern hinterland has received the attention of the interventionist agency, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

This is said to be sequel to the marching order by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the Commission to rescue major roads in the Niger Delta that have broken down.

Work has already resumed and commuters have started pouring praises for what they termed timely intervention. It is a usually a busy road at Christmas, and one of the commercial bus drivers using the road, Kinsley Okorigwe, thanked the NDDC for responding on time to the distress calls of commuters bearing the pains of the damaged road.

The Managing Director of the NDDC, Samuel Ogbuku (PhD), has already inspected the ongoing repair works at the failed sections of the Owerri-Port Harcourt Road between Umuapu and Umuagwo in Imo State.

Ogbuku stated that the road’s deplorable state necessitated the emergency measures the NDDC took to restore it and make it motorable immediately.
