Overview
Popular music executive and CEO of Kennis Music, Kenny Ogungbe, has denied being responsible for Plantashun Boiz’s split.
He made this known in a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, saying the group had already broken up before 2Face approached him.
Ogungbe was reacting to rumours that the musical group broke up after Kennis Music signed their star singer, 2Face.
Plantashun Boiz, a group comprising 2Face, Blackface and Faze, split in 2004 after the release of their sophomore album ‘Sold Out’.
In 2007, the group reunited for a third and final album ‘Plan B’, before splitting again.
Speaking on the development during the interview, he said, “People have been saying l’m the one responsible for the breakup of Plantashun Boiz.
“That’s not true. 2face came to me himself after the group had broken up that he wanted to sign with Kennis music and Eedris Abdulkareem told me to sign him which I did.”
